Catch a Canoe and Bicycles Too at the Stanford Inn is hosting the popular 2013 Solar Eco Cruise. Sail up Big River with a tail wind, paddle here and there, and return under solar electric power. Your experienced guide will take you about 3.5 miles upriver while you relax and look for Harbor Seals, River Otters and an abundance of bird life. A 9 person ultra-stable redwood outrigger, has been specially made to provide a safe, easy way to experience Big Rivers unique beauty.
The Solar Eco Tour departs daily @ 11:15 AM from the dock at Catch a Canoe, a 3 minute walk from your room at the Stanford Inn by the Sea. 2013 tours begin on Saturday, June 22nd and run through Sunday, September 1st.
Expect to spend about 2 1/4 to 2.5 hours on the water.
Please arrive about 5-10 minutes early so we can get you signed up and outfitted.
It’s best to dress in layers as it may prove to be cooler on the water.
Due to the extreme stability of our 9 person outrigger, we encourage cameras and/or binoculars.
Children ages 8 and up are welcome. Sorry, we don’t allow pets on the tours, although we welcome them on our rental outriggers.
Tour rates are $65 per person which includes gratuity.
You may charge this activity to your room bill if desired.
Cancellation is allowed up to 72 hours prior to departure.
Please take advantage of Mendocino’s most interesting activity!
